I have been telling myself sine I got the news from the doctors to take deep breaths.  Be excited, but not to excited.

J and I had a discussion this morning about OBGYNs as I hungrily scarfed down 4 whole grain french toast sticks, a yogurt,2 gram cracker goldfish (The chocolate are my favorite!), a pint of skim milk, 4oz of Orange juice and lots of water.  I am STARVING in the mornings.  Seriously, I could probably eat a whole zebra.

I need an OBGYN, desperately. I have for the past 3 years since my move been using the reproductive care unit as the OBGYN for the issues.  I know that my reproductive care unit covers the first 11 weeks.  After that, unless you are a high risk patient, you get discharged to your OBGYN.  Thus the issue.  J referred me to hers, which she says are “Polite, informative and great with children.”

Little know fact,  She told me that when I call them to mention that I have undergone IVF for they do a fetal electrocardiogram on the child once a month.  She quickly followed it up with a “Don’t look so worried, it is a precaution since you are IVF, the fetus has the same chances of developing something as any other baby, they just like to be careful!”  -Thank you J

Now I’m spreading the word to you,  ask your IVF coordinators or OBGYN if they will do fetal electrocardiograms!

J also informed me that they love to be careful about everything.  Blood work every other day, ultra sounds done once a week till week 11, blood pressure, Thyroid hormone level check.

Damn! It makes me wonder, hell, if I didn’t have the issues, I would not be as informed, how do other women go through pregnancy WITHOUT these things?  I understand why they must and I am thankful.  I know lots of things as it is happening and can rest easily knowing they are carefully watching.

Next blood test is scheduled for Friday with potential ultrasound next week!

Day 4 After Retrieval

Saturday, Day 3!  I quickly check my email for the embryologist report at 8am.  Nothing yet, but i mean it is the weekend after all, so instead of fussing about it my husband and I got ready to go meet some friends at a Korean Festival.

Everything was going great until the hubster closed out of the directions on how to get there the 5th time and me missing 4 different turn offs and back tracking because of it, making us almost 40 minutes later than I had told the friends I would be there. (Note: I HATE, HATE being late.  It is one of my pet peeves. If I say 6pm I’m there 5:55 LATEST.) So 40 minutes?  Well after the 4th missed turn because of chubby fingers in the passenger seat I lost it, Cried, yelled, hyperventilation, got light-headed, the works.  It got so bad I had to pull the bloody car over to prevent a crash.  The guy who’s drive way we used had the sweetest dog who ran over and started licking my hand, which I’m sure was a sight to see for the owner. Here is this crazy woman pulling into his drive way switching places with her husband who is crying hysterically and now laughing and rubbing the ears of this dog. I’m sure if he never sees me again it will be too soon.  Hah!

After a brief cool down and the hubster at the wheel we finally made it to the festival.

Lots of food, lots of music and dances!

 

Once home and resting for it is still painful if I move a lot, I finally got the news!

All 5 embryo’s are developmentally in the correct stage!!  WooHoo!!

I hope that they continue on their path to maturity, for tomorrow is the big IMPLANT DAY!

 

Although doing this for the first trimester, if implant day works tomorrow, is not going to be pleasant.

The follies are ready! The Follies are ready!

Triggered tonight about 20 minutes ago!  I think I should have had the psycho music playing the way my hubby gleefully stabbed my hindquarters.  Luckily I took many peoples advice and froze the nerves to sub zero temperatures.

Retrieval day is set for Wednesday which means, no Needles tomorrow!!
